About the club
Established in 1991, Yealm Gig Club is proud to be the first gig club to form outside Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Located on the creek of the River Yealm, nearly six miles southeast of Plymouth, our club has senior and veteran crews with an age range of 16-84.
We row in the tidal estuary of the Yealm and out to sea. There are regular sessions throughout the year with both team training and open rows.
Since 2023 we have become a charity - officially Yealm Gig Rowing Club CIO.
